We assist a range of corporate clients by assessing the most appropriate category of temporary or permanent residence.
Temporary Business Sponsorship (457 Visa)
The employer/sponsor must apply to be a sponsor to recruit overseas workers; nominate the positions they want to fill; recruit the overseas workers to fill the nominated positions; and act as a sponsor for employees applying for a visa. Only certain occupations are eligible for 457 visa. Most employers will apply for approval as a Standard Business Sponsor. The approval generally last for 3 years and there is a limit to the number of employees who can be sponsored over this time.
Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)
The Sublcass 186 Emplyer Nomination Scheme visa is a permanent residency visa that requires the sponsorship of a nominating employer. There are three separate pathways or streams for the 186 visa. You must satisfy the requirements of one of the streams before applying for the 186 visa. The streams are called the Direct Entry stream, Temporary Residence Transition stream and Agreement stream.
Regional Sponsored Skilled Migration Scheme (RSMS)
The RSMS visa requires a job offer in a regional area. The position needs to be approved by a Regional Certifying Body, but otherwise the skill level criteria are lower than for an ENS visa. The resulting RSMS visa is a permeant visa, but is subject to cancellation if the employee leaves employment within 2 years of obtaining the visa.
